Resident Representative, IMF

Andrew Jewell has been the IMF’s resident representative for Georgia since August 2023. He was previously the resident representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since joining the Fund in 2010, he has worked on debt sustainability issues in low-income countries and has been a senior economist on Algeria, Belgium, France, Latvia, and Ireland. Prior to the IMF, he spent ten years as an economist at the U.S. Treasury Department, including as the Treasury’s Paris Club negotiator, and three years as a financial analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He holds a master’s degree in international relations and economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
