Dimitris Psarrakis is Senior Fellow of Wharton’s Blockchain and Digital Assets Project (BDAP) and Board Director of GBBC. He served for seven years as Economic and Monetary Policy Specialist at the European Parliament and he is ranked among the World’s top-100 most influential people in Blockchain and RegTech. Dimitris is the draftsperson of the Blockchain Resolution that created the framework of the regulatory treatment of blockchain technology in the EU. He co-drafted the most of the Digital Finance Regulations of the EU, most importantly, the Crowdfunding Platforms Regulations and the Titles 2 and 3 of the Markets in Crypto-Asset Regulation (MiCA). His last work before leaving the European Parliament was the DLT Pilot Regime, which focuses on the on-chain trading, clearing and settlement of tokenized financial instruments. Dimitris is co-author of two books on Digital Finance and Blockchain Economics. His professional and research work focuses on the financial economics of tokenization of value, market microstructure and regulatory design.
