Government Leaders Dialogue: The Next Global Innovation Cycle in Financial Services and Payments

As financial systems evolve amid rapid technological disruption, governments and central banks are stepping into a defining role that shapes the rules, infrastructure, and trust frameworks for the next global innovation cycle. Following the previous day’s roundtable that explored how innovators and academics are reimagining finance through AI, tokenisation, and quantum technologies, this high-level dialogue brings together central bank leaders to reflect on what this transformation means from a policy and governance perspective.

Central bank leaders will share their insights on how regional financial authorities are preparing for an era of programmable money, digital public infrastructure, and AI-driven regulation. The conversation will explore how small and mid-sized economies can move from experimentation to scaled innovation, balance domestic priorities with global competitiveness, and ensure that trust, interoperability, and resilience remain at the core of this new cycle of finance.
